Valentines Day Lip Balm

As valentines day is quickly approaching, i thought it would be appropriate to do a Valentines DIY.  I will be showing you how to make an all natural Valentines Day lipbalm.  This recipie uses all natural ingredients and you could even substitute some ingredients to make it vegan.

You will need...

1 Tbsp Beeswax
1 Tbsp Cocoa Butter
1/2 Tbsp Shea Butter
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1/2 Tbsp Kukui Nut Oil
1 pump of Vitamin E oil
Essential Oil of your choice
Double boiler
(I got all of my oils and butters from Whole Foods)

If you want a vegan lipbalm you can substitue the beeswax for Candelillia, Carnauba or Palm wax.
If you want it softer, add an extra tablespoon of a carrier oil.

The first step it to get 1 Tbsp of beeswax. I bought a block of beeswax from Michels but you can get beeswax beads so you dont have to waste time shreading the beeswax.  Take your double boiler and add in the beeswax until it melts.

Then add in your butters into the mealted beeswax and mix it in

Next, put in your oils and make sure not to forget the vitamin E oil.  This will help the lipbalm last a lot longer because it is a natural preservative

If you want a slight pigment, add in a slice of a bright lipstick or eyeshadow.  It is very important to realize that if you put in a nude lipstick, you will hardly get any pigmentation at all.  I used a bright pink and got a baby pink when it dried.

Finally, put in an essential oil of your choice. I made 4 batches and used a different scent in each one.  I used pepermint, lavendar, vanilla and lemon.

Pour your final product into a container and transfer it into the refrigerator
