Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

I feel super late to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar trend but better late than never right? This palette is pretty fabulous and I'm excited to share this review with you all.

Can we all admire this packaging for a moment. It reminds me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The packaging gets even better when you open it up!

After reading a few reviews, I heard different feedback on the packaging. Some people think it is too tacky and chunky but I think it is adorable.

Those are some close up of the colors. How beautiful are they. The left half of the palette has beautiful neutral shades. The right half has more colors and are mostly shimmer shades rather than matte
The row on the left is without primer and the right is with. Using a primer with all of these shades really made a difference. Especially with the color glitter shades.

Overall, this palette is pretty great. I have been playing around with it for a few weeks now and I have learned a few things about it

1) it smells JUST like chocolate

2) the packaging is amazing

3) the shades are pigmented but work sooo much better with a primer

I like this palette a lot but if you are looking for a neutral palette and are deciding between this or the Naked palette go with the Naked. But if you are looking for a versatile palette this is the palette for you.

Have you picked up this palette yet?

Xoxo,

Chloe

Kat Von D Immortal Lash Review

Hi everyone

I am a huge fan of Kat Von D's eyeliner so when I found out about her new mascara I had to get it.

I have really long eyelashes so finding a mascara that doesn't clump my lashes together is really hard. I have been (and still am) searching for the perfect mascara.

This mascara has very fine bristles that work to prevent clumping. At the end of the mascara wand, there is a spiky ball that helps separate the lashes.

The formula is 24 hour so the mascara is a little hard feeling.

Overall I like this mascara. It doesn't clump too much and gives you a very dramatic eye look

Have you tried this mascara yet?

Thanks for reading

The 'Not Another Tag' Tag

Since I am pretty new to the whole beauty blogging thing, I have only been tagged in 1 other tag. This tag was made by Haley from Tea Party Beauty.

The Rules
- You must include Hayley and the person who tagged you in the post (and the rules)
- Once you’ve answered all the questions you need to tag 5 people.
- Also if you tweet Hayley (@teapartybeauty) the link to your post, she will RT.
- If you’re tagged and don’t do the post you will have bad luck for 68.5 years. FACT.

You’ve made it BIG & bagged some VIP Fashion Week tickets. You lucky devil you. But in your rush to get there & get yourself noticed you forgot your VIP Passes. The guy on the door says he will cut you a deal, you can go in only if you sacrifice either your Front Row seat, backstage privileges or goody bag. What’s it gonna be?

I know i should probably say the Front Row seats but i would be lying. I would so prefer the goody bag! Free stuff is the best kind of stuff.

You’re making a new subscription box what 4 items & which dreaded perfume sample would you include in it?

I would put Kat Von D's Tattoo Eyeliner, Becca Foundation, Benefit's Gimmie Brow and a Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick in the shade 101. As for the perfume sample, i would put Vanilla Bean Noel by Bath and Bodyworks! That stuff it amazing.

What is your biggest blogging bug bear? The one thing guaranteed to make your blood boil & have you screaming/eye rolling at your laptop?
I don't know if this bothers other people, but if someone writes a review and doesn't show any pictures of the product! It is so annoying especially if they rave about the product and they don't even show you what it looks like.
No more joining in on Twitter chats only slightly relevant to your blog. You can only join in one blogger chat a week for the rest of your blogging days, which one’s it gonna be & why?
Im really bad when it comes to the Twitter chats. I have only been in a few so I'm going to have to go with the #bbloggers chat because i am a #bblogger.
‘Fess up, do you actually own any MAC? If so what don’t you like about the product?
YES! Mac is my favorite lipstick brand but I am not the biggest fan of their other products. Their eyeshadow is good but their liquid eyeliner pen is TERRIBLE and so watery!
The bloggings Gods ban arm swatching, which body part will you swatch on now?
This one is hard! I would probably go with my leg I guess… I just would have to remember to shave before every swatch!
You can no longer have Yankee Candles & Perfume Bottles in the background of your shots, what other inanimate object will you choose?
I don't actually do this one, so I would stick to what i usually do.  I would use a nice fabric or my floral bedsheets.
Your blog’s Instagram, is it for cats or meal shots?
Cats. Its all about my cat.(@yeahitschloe if you don't believe me)
Im going to tag

Mac Play Land Collection

I was so excited when I found out about the new Mac collection. I love pastel colors so much. This collection is all about fun and bright colors. I got 2 lipsticks and 1lipglass from this collection.

I welcomed Sweet Experiance, Playland and Lots of Laughs to my beautiful Mac family.

Here are some swatches of the lipsticks and lipgloss

(From left to right) Lots of Laughs, Sweet Experiance and Playland.

Lots of Laughs is a beautiful natural pink color

Sweet Experiance is a lot brighter and lighter than it looks in the picture. It is nice but it reminds me of a Nicki Minaj lipstick

Playland is the most original shade in the collection. It is a really cool Frosty gold that would be a great top coat for a bright lipstick. It is pretty on its own as well. I really love it.

This collection might not be the most wearable collection but if you are bold enough to rock these bright colors then this collection is for you. It is so beautiful and I am super impressed.

Have you picked anything up from this collection yet?

Elf Lip Exfoliator Review

I usually only go to CVS for my drugstore shopping but I went into a Walgreens and got the Elf lip exfoliator. I haven't used anything from Elf before but judging from this lip exfoliator, I can tell the makeup line is great. The lip exfoliator came in a lipstick tube.  I dont know if any one else is as excited about this but i think that is genious! I always carry an exfoliant around with me but having one in a lipstick tube saves so much space.
The exfoliator isn't extremely aggressive but it does work very well.  The lipstick has Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba oil.  It claims to be moisturizing but i feel it exfoliates a lot more than it moisturizes.  This lip exfoliant really works! I use it 2 times a day and follow it with my favorite lip balm.

If you are looking for an amazing lip exfoliator that is convienently sized and extremely cheap (how could you not want that?!?) then this is definatly the product for you.

Real Techniques Brush Review

I have always heard people raving about the Real Techniques brushes and I have always thought "what is so great about them, they are just brushes right?" WRONG

I used to apply my foundation with my fingers and blush with a old kabuki brush but never again. These brushes have changed the way I apply my makeup. It is hard for me to describe what makes these brushes so great but they work so well!
I bought the Core Collection, Blush Brush and the Expert Face Brush.

The core collection  is amazing and comes with a stand for the 4 brushes. There is one contor brush, one foundation brush, one small detail brush and one powder brush. The great thing about all of these brushes is that they can all be used for many different things and not just one.

The blush brush is my favorite brush out of all of them. It is a fluffy dome brush but while it is soft, it is still compact enough to pick up all of the product. I used to never wear blush because it never looked good but the blush wasn't the problem, my brush was. This brush helps me apply my blush so flawlessly!
The last brush I got was the Expert Face Brush. This brush is fantastic. It can be used for foundation, contouring or powder. I never had the right brush for contouring so I never bothered to put on bronzer because it looked so unnatural but this brush makes my bronzer look so natural.

Overall, I am IN LOVE with these brushes and look forward to trying more in the future.

The Balm Instain Blush Review

While is was in Hollywood I walked into a Walgreens. I was just expecting you know... A Wallgreens but no.  This was no ordinarily Walgreens. NO SIR! This was a Boots and Walgreens combined into one beautiful store. You might be asking yourself "But she lives in Califonia not the UK, why is there a Boots?" My answer to that is I HAVE NO IDEA BUT I AM SO HAPPY THERE IS! I have always been envious of the fabulous UK beauty bloggers who get to go to Boots and now I can too!

Anyway... I went into this Boots/Walgreens for Q-Tips but was shocked to find a full The Balm display so of course I had to get something. The only thing i own from the Balm is a sample of a highlighter and I liked it so I figured, why not try a blush? I picked up a pretty light pink/coral blush in the shade Arglye

The Balm's packaging is flawless as usual but the color is also fabulous
The formula of the blush is great and it stays for a long time. This is my new favorite blush and I wear it everyday.

I'm really impressed with The Balm and I really want to try more of their products.

Have you tried any products from The Balm? Which ones do you recommend for me to try out?

Birchbox April Review

I don't like writing negative reviews so I have been holding back writing Birchbox reviews. I joined Birchbox when it first came out and over time, I have watched the brands get lower quality and the sample sizes get smaller. I used to love everything in my box but now there is usually an average of 0-1 products I like or could see myself using. Let's take a look at this months box

I got the smallest sample of a CC cream that doesn't match my skin tone. In my system preferences I wrote that I have a light skin tone and they have me a pretty dark medium color.

Next, I got a Color Club nail polish sample. I'm not extremely opposed to getting nail polish but I specifically said in my system preferences that I don't want nail polish and yet I get it every time. I wish they would change the brand of polish at least. I ALWAYS get Color Club

I got sent a black eyeliner pencil. I swatched this and it smudged in a second...

Finally, I got a decent sized detangler and heat protectant. I know this is repetitive but I did specifically request not to get hair products and yet...

I was very dissapointed with the sample size and the actual products in this Birchbox. I will most likely be unsubscribing and switching to Ipsy.

Do you suscribe to Birchbox or Ipsy?

Too Faced Lipstick Review

Hola everyone,

I went to Sephora and couldn't resist picking up a Too Faced lipstick. I haven't heard much about them but the packaging was so adorable I couldn't pass up on it! I chose the shade Taffy because I love light pink lipstick.
I love love love this lipstick. It is wonderful. The formula is really creamy and not drying at all. It feels like more of a tinted lipbalm but it has the pigmentation of a lipstick. I'm really liking it so far! The Too Faced packaging is fabulous as always! I don't think they have ever had ugly packaging. It is pretty sleek and it is easy to carry around. This lipstick is pretty fabulous and I would recommend it.

Thanks for reading,

Chloe
